JJW (Bill) Siganto was the founder of Siganto & Stacey Pty Ltd and one of the leading contributors to the Australian HVAC industry. Bill Siganto passed away in September 2015.
Siganto Air was purchased on 1st July 2020 from the Siganto family by long term current and previous employees, Matt Richardson and Darren McHugh. Darren and Matt oversee the operations of Siganto Air.

Darren McHugh – Director and Service Manager
Darren and Matt Richardson recently formed a partnership and purchased Siganto Air from the Siganto family.
Darren started in the HVAC industry in 1984 with Mark Horn Air Conditioning (now Siganto Air Service & Solutions) as a Refrigeration Apprentice at the age of 17.
Over the 22 years employed at Siganto Darren worked in many areas of the business. After 19 years of extensive experience in the field, Darren was offered a role as Service Manager. Darren carried out this role for 2 years but realised he really wanted to return to the field and left to start his own business in 2006.
Since that time Darren has worked in all areas of HVAC, including installation, commissioning, maintenance and repairs, running small and large projects including team management. He has maintained close ties with Siganto Air, collaborating on many major projects over the years.
Darren holds a diploma of Engineering and Refrigeration.
Matt Richardson – Director and Project Manager
Matt recently purchased Siganto Air from the Siganto family in partnership with Darren McHugh.
Matt has been with Siganto Air Service and Solutions for 13 years and was recently appointed General Manager. With 5 years’ experience working as a Refrigeration Mechanic for a range of different customers, Matt then moved into Project and Account Management.
He completed his Diploma of Project Management and stepped into more senior project management roles from that point forward.

Matt’s customer service ethos and dedication to successful contract completion is second to none. He is able to build strong relationships with clients, the rest of the Siganto Air team and sub-contractors. His patience and eye for detail are two of the qualities that contribute to Matt’s success.
Sharon Logan – Admin and Finance Manager
With a strong business background, Sharon manages the back-ofﬁce staff at Siganto Air and stepped into the role of Acting General Manager for an interim period of 18 months prior to the purchase by Darren and Matt.
Sharon directly supervises the administration team of three. Together they work with her on the scheduling of works, co-ordination with clients, invoicing and reporting. Sharon’s calm and pleasant manner and customer focus ensure that customers are provided with highest level of service, while any issues are resolved promptly with the clients’ needs always being the most important consideration.
Mick Goonan – Technical Manager
Michael has been in the HVAC and Refrigeration industry for 40 years and is a qualified air conditioning and refrigeration mechanic.
Michael brings a superior knowledge of chillers and air conditioning from serving his earlier years with companies such as:

Luke Air Conditioning
Michael has worked on all types of chillers including installation, commissioning, maintenance and repairs. His experience extends to central plant air conditioning systems, package and split systems, chilled water systems, commissioning of HVAC systems, BMS controls, Essential Service Testing and Verification, Cold Rooms, and all types of HVAC systems and componentry.
Michael’s experience and knowledge is second to none in the industry and he is highly regarded in Queensland HVAC community.
Trent Lewis – Client Services Manager
Trent is a dual trade technician holding both Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and Electrical Qualiﬁcations. As a specialist customer service manager, Trent works closely with Siganto Air clients in a variety of capacities including on-boarding new clients, carrying out dilapidation reviews and asset reviews, pricing repairs and upgrades and dealing with more innovative requests including energy efﬁciency initiatives and performance optimisation.
Trent’s own ﬁrst-class diagnostic and fault-ﬁnding skills are complemented by his collaborative approach to all works ensuring that customers are aware of activities at all times, while receiving the outcomes they expect.
